Your operationChin reduction surgery requires the surgeon to make an incision either in the base of the mouth between the gum and lower lip or underneath the chin, exposing the chin and jawbones. The bone is then reworked, either through repositioning, removal or sculpting, before the incision is closed. If incision takes place through the mouth, no scarring will be visible. It is not uncommon for the procedure to be performed in conjunction with a face lift or nose reshaping. |
Your anaesthesiaJust like chin augmentation, chin reduction is usually performed under general anaesthesia and is done as a day case. Depending upon the amount of work required, surgery will take between 1 and 3 hours to complete. |
