Complicatins are rareWith chin augmentation, there is a risk of infection caused by a breakdown of incisions within your mouth. If this happens, your surgeon will advise you to remove the implant in order to control the infection. The procedure can be repeated three to four months later. |
Numbness of the lower lip occurs, but it is usually a temporary phenomenon. Sensation usually returns to normal after re-growth of the nerve endings in the chin area. All these are possible complications but unlikely to occur, but nevertheless should be discussed fully with your surgeon. |
